Our doctors and staff here at Kernersville Eye Surgeons are committed to providing the same great service, while also working to keep our patients, staff, and community safe! We ask that you please follow our new COVID-19 protocols.
Pre-appointment Screening:
- We ask that if you are sick, or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 that you reschedule.
- Depending on the reason for your visit, we may ask that you schedule a virtual telehealth visit instead of an in-person office visit. If you are scheduled for a telehealth visit please click here for detailed instructions on how to connect to one of our ophthalmologists. You will also receive an email from our office prior to your visit with similar instructions. If you have questions or difficulty connecting, please contact our office.
- If you are scheduled for an in-person visit you will receive a phone call 1-2 days prior to your visit to confirm your appointment and to screen you for symptoms of COVID-19. Click here to complete the questionnaire prior to your visit. If you prefer, this can also be completed when you arrive to the office.
New COVID-19 Protocols for Office Visits:
- Patients are required to wear a mask.
- We ask that any family members, or visitors that accompany you to your appointment stay in the vehicle unless they are essential to the appointment.
- You will be pre-screened at the outside office entryway. There, a staff member will have you complete a questionnaire as well as take your temperature.
- We ask that you practice social distancing procedures in the waiting room. If the waiting room is at capacity, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle, and a staff member will call you when it’s time for you to go in.
Additional Precautions:
- All of our doctors and staff will wear masks.
- Sanitization of the waiting room and any “high-touch” areas will be done throughout the day.
- Exam rooms will be sanitized after every patient.
New COVID-19 Protocols for Surgery:
- The Kernersville Outpatient Surgery Center has re-opened for non-urgent elective surgery.
- All patients undergoing surgery will be required to have a pre-surgery appointment for COVID-19 screening test 3 days prior to surgery. You will be contacted by Novant Health to arrange this screening appointment after you receive your surgery date from our office.
- After your COVID-19 screening appointment, you will be required to self-quarantine until you have your surgery (3 days).
- On the day of surgery, the person(s) accompanying you will be asked to wait in the lobby or their vehicle until you have been discharged from the surgery center.
We understand that these new protocols may seem inconvenient and impersonal. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this public health emergency. Please know that your health and safety is of paramount importance to us as we resume clinical and surgical activity. We are confident that we can continue to provide excellent medical and surgical eyecare while also limiting the spread of the coronavirus with these measures in place. If you have any questions or concerns about these new procedures, please call our office, we will be happy to help you.
